Plaintext is run by CJ and Ben Brewer. Two brothers who grew up in Littleton, Colorado and noticed there was basically nothing going on in Littleton from a tech perspective.

We bring pretty different backgrounds to the table. CJ has been in software engineering for 15 years. He runs operations as VP of Ops at CipherStash, a data security company building searchable encryption for modern applications. He's also building Swirls, a workflow automation platform that lets you wire up APIs, AI, and multi-step processes using a simple declarative language. Think of it like infrastructure as code but for automating your entire workflow.

Ben works with our dad Steve at BrewTech IT, a local MSP that's been around since 1990, serving companies in the Denver metro area for a long time. They handle security infrastructure, phishing protection, email fraud prevention, security cameras, on-prem servers, networking, and personal device management. Basically everything a local business needs to stay protected and running.

The combination of cloud-native security engineering and boots on the ground IT infrastructure creates a unique perspective. We see tech from both sides.

Honestly we were just chilling at Denver Beer Co. one day and decided it would be really cool if someone actually did something for the tech community in Littleton. So we just did the thing.
